To apply for incentives for existing residential and all other non-residential buildings, applicants must complete a solar incentive application with an acceptable energy audit. |
- Having an acceptable energy audit report from some time during the past three years.
- Having documented Title 24 energy efficiency compliance within the past three years, completed by a Certified Energy Plans Examiner.
- Having a LEED or Energy Star certification containing the address of the building and the date of certification.
To apply for incentives for new residential buildings-single-family homes, custom homes and multifamily buildingsunder the New Solar Homes Partnership, builders are required to exceed Title 24 performance by 15% to qualify for the rebate program. Only compliance forms completed by Certified Energy Plans Examiners (CEPE) will be accepted.
Homes accepted into the NSHP will also be eligible for additional energy efficiency incentives, up to $2,000 per home, when they achieve efficiency levels up to 35% better than Title 24 minimum standards.
Solar installations in new homes will also require a solar inspection by a specially trained HERS Rater and it is anticipated that eventually existing homes will also require this inspection.
If you would like to find a CEPE who is also a CABEC Member to complete Title 24 compliance documentation, please visit our CEPE Roster page.
