Solar Energy Efficiency
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) recently began implementing the California Solar Initiative (CSI) for the period 2007-2016, providing more than $2 billion in incentives over the next ten years for solar installations in existing residential homes and existing and new commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties. The California Energy Commission is involved in encouraging solar installations in new home construction through the New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP), through a ten year, $350 million program. The purpose of this letter is to make energy consultants who are Residential Certified Energy Plans Examiners (CEPEs) aware of an important role you can play in California's New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP) and to encourage you to provide your services to program participants.
